Purpose, product and commercial model
Inside Adult Learning Centre.
Institutional adult-learning content and platform
The Adult Learning Centre is a white-label learning publisher for institutions rather than a direct-to-consumer course marketplace. Annual licences give colleges, local authorities, charities, employability organisations and private training providers structured programmes containing learner workbooks, tutor guides, worksheets, quizzes, assessments, slides, handouts, certificates and resource libraries. Setup and customisation fees support local adaptation, with optional branded portals and cohort management forming the expansion path. The core promise is usable provision without every institution having to author and maintain its own complete course pack.
Who the business serves
Further-education colleges, councils, community learning teams, charities and private training providers are the primary buyers. They need usable course materials and tutor resources that can be deployed without writing every programme from scratch. Workforce-development and employability organisations are related customers.
Product and operating model
The initial offer is text-first course packs with learner workbooks, tutor guides, session plans, worksheets, quizzes, assessments and completion resources. Digital skills, practical AI literacy and employability are the first subject families. A supporting portal is intended to let institutions preview materials, assign learning, download resources and track completion. Completion certificates must describe the actual course completed; the plan does not establish regulated qualifications.
Intended revenue streams
The commercial model below describes the intended ways this business can earn income. It does not represent verified sales, customers or recurring revenue.
- Annual course licences
- Institutions can license individual course packs or access a wider learning-resource library.
- Customisation and setup
- Project fees cover branding, local examples, adapted materials and onboarding.
- White-label portals
- A branded institutional portal combines setup with recurring access.
- Later cohort management
- Additional software for learner progress, cohorts and reporting can extend the institutional offer.
Development intentions
Start with complete, accessible course packs and an institutional preview journey. Prove tutor usability, learner completion and a pilot licence before expanding the library or building more complex management tools. Qualification-aligned or funded routes require their own delivery arrangements and are later options, rather than assumed launch entitlements.
