Information we receive
If you email us, we receive the information in your message and your contact details. If you create an acquisition order, the form asks for your legal name, company if applicable, email address, phone number, billing address, the business you selected, your chosen payment asset and your transaction acknowledgements. We may request identity, beneficial ownership and source-of-funds information during the later acquisition process; the public order form does not collect those documents.
If you choose account sign-in, the sign-in provider passes an account reference and basic profile details, such as your name and email address, so the site can show your account. The hosting service may process technical request and security logs, such as IP address, browser information and time of access.
How we use and share information
We use information to answer enquiries, create and manage acquisition orders, provide payment instructions, carry out due diligence and contractual handover, maintain site security, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Depending on the activity, this is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract, perform a contract, meet a legal obligation or pursue a legitimate interest in operating and securing the site.
Order details are passed to the shared DMA retail checkout system that creates the payment request. Hosting, sign-in, email and payment service providers process information needed to provide their services. A blockchain payment may create a public transaction record. We do not sell buyer contact details.
Cookies and browser storage
Sign-in and essential site services may use session cookies or similar storage. After an acquisition order is created, this site stores the order ID and an access token in your browser’s local storage so that your payment page can retrieve the order. You can remove this information through your browser settings, although doing so may prevent the payment page from finding the order on that device.
At the date of this notice, the site does not display Google ads. If advertising is enabled later, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this site or other sites. Google’s advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to show ads based on those visits. You can manage personalised advertising in Google’s My Ad Center and learn about other industry opt-outs at aboutads.info.
Advertising cookies and personalised ads for visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland require an appropriate consent choice through a Google-certified consent management platform before they are used. This notice will be updated when advertising is activated.
Retention and your choices
Enquiries are kept while needed to respond and manage any follow-up. Order, payment and contract records are kept for the acquisition process and any applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements; records are removed or anonymised when no longer needed for those purposes.
You may ask to access or correct your information, and in some circumstances ask for erasure, restriction, portability or object to its use. Contact hello@thedma.co.uk to make a request. You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
