Purpose, product and commercial model
Inside Free API.
Fixed-fee open-source language-model API
FreeAPI is an API-only subscription service for developers and agent users who want predictable inference costs. Customers configure one base URL and API key, then call curated open-source models through an OpenAI-style interface while the platform handles authentication, quotas, routing and worker availability. The initial product intentionally excludes hosted workspaces and general AI-app features. Its commercial proposition is simple monthly access with clear guardrails, supported by a cloud control plane and replaceable GPU workers.
Who the business serves
Developers, automation builders and people running their own agent clients are the target users. They want predictable access to curated open-source language models without managing model servers or an unpredictable usage bill. The product provides an API connection; customers retain their own applications and agent environments.
Product and operating model
The plan offers one OpenAI-compatible endpoint, API-key controls, a model catalogue, getting-started documentation and a usage dashboard. Requests are routed to the operating inference stack under published context, output, concurrency and throughput limits. The useful distinction is bounded, understandable monthly access. Reliability, clear limit messages and easy client configuration are as important as the range of models.
Intended revenue streams
The commercial model below describes the intended ways this business can earn income. It does not represent verified sales, customers or recurring revenue.
- Monthly API plans
- Fixed-fee subscriptions differentiate lighter use from professional workloads through stated model access and capacity limits.
- Later capacity upgrades
- Additional concurrency or higher limits can be considered after real workload and infrastructure costs are measured.
Development intentions
Prove onboarding, client compatibility and dependable inference before expanding capacity or team features. Hosted agent workspaces, arbitrary code execution and bundled premium third-party models are outside the initial plan. The sale needs an explicit arrangement for transferable software and continued or transferred inference infrastructure.
