Purpose, product and commercial model
Inside IA Capital.
Direct car buying and vehicle resale
IA Capital buys vehicles directly from private sellers within a 100-mile radius of Nottingham city centre. It acquires below a defensible exit value and resells through evidenced trade, repair or authorised salvage routes. The buying policy includes non-runners, MOT failures, damaged cars, Category N and S vehicles and cars without a V5C, subject to title and history verification. A four-step seller site feeds a private operator desk and an auditable acquisition model that accounts for downside sale proceeds, recovery, repair costs, fees, VAT, holding, capital and required contribution. The owner-funded car-buying plan of 7 October 2026 supersedes the previous property and investment programme. Initial pricing requires operator review while real purchase and exit results calibrate the assumptions.
Who the business serves
Private vehicle owners around Nottingham are the seller audience, including people selling running cars, older vehicles, MOT failures, non-runners and damaged stock. The business offers the convenience of one direct buyer and suitable collection. Trade buyers, repairers and authorised salvage operators form the potential exit network.
Product and operating model
A registration-first seller journey captures vehicle details, condition, photographs and collection location. A private operator then reviews identity, authority to sell, available market evidence and the costs of the intended exit. Offers are assessed against recovery, repairs, fees, holding exposure and a defensible resale route. The launch model uses owner-funded working capital and operator-reviewed decisions; it does not rely on an investor return product.
Intended revenue streams
The commercial model below describes the intended ways this business can earn income. It does not represent verified sales, customers or recurring revenue.
- Trade resale contribution
- The primary route is buying a vehicle at an appropriate price and reselling to an evidenced trade buyer.
- Repair and retail exits
- Selected vehicles may justify preparation and retail resale where costs, capacity and buyer demand support the route.
- Lawful salvage exits
- Damaged or unsuitable retail stock can use authorised salvage channels where ownership and operating permissions are established.
Development intentions
Actual purchase-to-exit outcomes should calibrate the acquisition model before automatic offers are introduced. Collection, purchase completion and bank payment require operational control. The current car-buying plan replaces the archived property and private-investment programme entirely; the sale should be assessed as a motor business.
